Safety Protocols For Re-Opening Amid Covid-19
As of March 28th, with the exception of serving a small number of essential workers, The Perfect Pooch NYC suspended most dog walking and pet care services. As we slowly (and happily!) start opening back up to serve our community, we want to share with you the steps we have and will continue to take to keep our customers and staff safe. We want nothing more than to get back to walking your pups and caring for all your fur-babies, while simultaneously making sure we are doing it the RIGHT WAY in the face of this horrible outbreak.
Here are the safety protocols we have in place to prohibit cross-contamination as we go from home-to-home, caring for your pets and doing the work we love:
All employees will be wearing clean masks at ALL times. This includes their commute in to work as well as throughout their workday.
All employees will wear fresh disposable gloves for each and every visit throughout their workday.
All employees will use their own leashes for dog walks. These leashes will be sanitized multiple times per day and at the end of each employee’s shift.
Employees will be washing hands before and after each visit and will use hand sanitizer.
Keys that are picked up and dropped off with building staff will be wiped down with lysol at the time of return.
Employees will be carrying lysol* and sanitizing all the surfaces they touch in customers’ homes (doorknobs, tabletops, water/food bowls**)
* If customers have a preferred alternate means of sanitation they will be asked to provide it themselves and to let us know how and when to use it.
**We will NOT be refilling water and food bowls as of right now unless customers are working out of the home and unable to do so themselves. This step is to limit the amount of contact we have with household items in each client’s home.
If you have any other recommendations of ways to keep customers and staff safe from the Coronavirus please feel free to shoot us an email at info@theperfectpoochnyc.com.
We are SO VERY ready for this city-wide shut down to be over and for life to resume! We also understand that what we knew as “normal” before is probably going to look a lot different, and that until we have medications and a vaccine for Covid-19 we are all going to have to continue to social-distance and take serious precautions, even while returning to work.
